John Denver is a popular artist and musician who has touched many people through his music. Many of these are based on Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, he was in love with Colorado and then relocated to Aspen. A few beat a path towards Colorado after hearing Denver's popular songs for his home state. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame says the fact that John Denver is unlike any other musician who represents Colorado. In 2011 Denver was chosen as the Hall of Fame's first inductee. Denver has become the image of Colorado to many all over the world. Through my many travels, I've encountered many people who are not from Colorado. People will beg, "Oh John Denver!" when they hear that you are from Colorado. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads, co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief stint with folk bands which was Denver's first Top 10 solo hit. Danoff had written the song in the spirit of Johnny Cash, but Denver discovered an early version and knew it would become one of the Top 10 hits. Just a few days after performing to an excited audience in Washington D.C., the performer recorded the track.
